You Can Make a Difference

Monday, December 21st, 2009

The Welcome Center at 2111 Sansom Street provides a safe, welcoming, supportive, environment for people experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia.  This is a day program, which offers counseling towards housing. It also provides lunch, movies, games, reading materials, and an “art corner”, two afternoons a week.

You can make a difference in many ways. Volunteers are needed and monetary donations are accepted.  Volunteers do such jobs as monitoring spaces, assisting in the art corner, or preparing and serving lunch and cleaning up. There are other opportunities to be involved, such as being a guest artist or musician.

Along with needing a constant stream of things like warm socks, toiletries, hats and gloves, reading materials and art supplies are accepted.  If you would like to give volunteering a try or make a donation, please contact Tamara at tamclements@gmail.com or call Ron at 215-567-3668.

Living in the elements, often staying awake all night protecting possessions, is exhausting and stressful. The Welcome Center offers a few hours to relax in a safe space. Please consider being a part of The Welcome Center’s efforts.

The Forgiveness Solution

Monday, December 14th, 2009

The Forgiveness Solution is a very powerful book that offers practical tools to create well-being.

This book shows you how to transform the daily stress and aggravation from encountering rudeness, broken agreements, or from unfulfilled expectations, into peace and love. Or on a deeper level, it can help you forgive those who have deeply hurt, abused, or betrayed you, so that you can heal. You’ll also pinpoint areas where you need to forgive yourself for past mistakes.

You’ll discover how you really are about letting go of past hurts, and uncover areas where you’re incomplete. Dr Friedman then provides visualizations, journal exercises, affirmations and positive pressure point techniques to help you resolve past issues so that you can feel peaceful and experience more love. You can use these tools on a daily basis to shift automatic negative reactions into positive ones. They will help you return back to your core Self.

Sometimes the most difficult relationships offer the greatest healing opportunities. The stories illustrate how past challenges have made you stronger, wiser, and a better person, so that you can shift your perspective. You can release feeling victimized and feel empowered.

The writing is clear, concise and easy to read and each chapter builds upon the next. Although it is very spiritual, it is not religious or dogmatic.

What I enjoyed most was the general tone of the book. It is so filled with compassionate wisdom and advice that just by reading it I was able to feel the Divine Order in my life. The Forgiveness Solution rates five stars. Whether you need to learn how to forgive a reckless driver for cutting you off on the highway or your mate for cheating on you, this book will help you feel happier and fulfilled. It will also help you shift to a higher level of awareness.  I highly recommend that everyone should read it.

Discoveries in Motion

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

I’d spent six hours on an airplane and my body felt stiff. Worrying about my husband’s health had me being a nervous wreck. And I was anxiously waiting to hear news from publishers who were reviewing my book. No wonder I felt out of sorts.

Luckily, Joe Ankenbrand, Feldenkrais practitioner, could give me a healing session. “Your upper back is frozen.” Joe said while touching my back. Within minutes after feeling Joe’s gentle skillful touch, I could breathe easier.

Feldenkris is a gentle hands-on, clothes-on treatment intended for those who wish to reduce pain or limitations in movement, or for those wanting to improve well-being. As a dancer, I’ve used the process to expand my range in movement over the years.

During my most recent session, I saw the impact my anxieties had upon my body. Fearing the future, I was holding tension in my upper back and shoulders. I was unaware that I was holding my breath. By the end of the session, I felt returned to my center, grounded, and peaceful.

Sacred Geometry Tools That Heal

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Geometry means, “measure of the earth.” Mathematical ratios, harmonics and proportions are found throughout nature. Since ancient times, many architects and artists believed certain proportions to be aesthetically pleasing. Many temples, churches, mosques and monuments are constructed with specific ratios as pat of their architecture. Religious art and iconography, as well as medicine wheels and mandalas, also employ these ratios in their construction. The science of using these ratios is called sacred geometry because these certain proportions can uplift our spirits and naturally invoke peace and tranquility.

Shambhala Healing tools use sacred geometry as a form of vibrational medicine that promotes healing, restful sleep & deep meditation. I use their The Buddha Maitreya Metatron Mat System in my office. It is a magnetic mattress pad designed to lie on top of a mattress, chair or massage table. The Mat combines the sacred geometric proportions of the Vesica Pisces symbol together with an electromagnetic grid. The Vesica Pisces is a diamond shape that contains the Phi Ratio which is found in our DNA, in rocks and minerals, and even in the atomic structure of life.

I find that lying on the Mat opens the meridians - the flows of energy in the body - and allows easy access to the wisdom of the Higher Self. It enhances the healing session.

Buddha Maitreya Head Pyramids are worn on the head and facilitate deep meditation and self-healing, revitalizing and healing the etheric body  - the matrix of the Physical, Emotional and Mental bodies. They can also be hung over an area like a desk, bed or massage table, to help one be more in touch with the Higher Self.

Learn how a past life influences you now

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Karma — the sum of an individual’s past actions extends throughout life in many ways. Ideally, principles of health, joy, and love would dominate, but if issues from the past are not properly resolved, they often manifest as addiction, physical pain, weight gain, anxiety, or relationship problems.

Whether it’s a challenging childhood, a difficult boss, or an abusive lover, Karmic Healing offers personal and encouraging stories of how one can overcome destructive emotional patterns and self-defeating attitudes to ultimately heal emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

Star Sirius- The Mysterious Crystal Skull

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Star Sirius, one of the 13 rare crystal skulls held in a private collection, openly sat on a table in Rosley’s Crystal booth in the convention hall. Larger than life-size, and weighing over 60 pounds, Star Sirius had a commanding presence on its altar, as tiny skulls carved from semi-precious stones surrounded it.

“Want to have an experience?” Steven, the proprietor of the booth asked with a twinkle in his eye.

Having bought many healing stones from Steven over the years, I trusted I was in for a delightful surprise.

            “Sure,” I couldn’t I resist the invitation.

“Sit across from the skull and place your hands on top of the cranium.” He said before walking away to tend to another customer.

A few seconds after I made physical contact with the skull, I closed my eyes. I was flooded with heat that poured down from my head into my heart. Tears trickled down my cheeks, as I felt enveloped in love. My whole body responded by taking a deep breath. When I exhaled, I let go of the tension I accumulated a half hour earlier driving through a rainstorm.  And now, amidst the thousands attending the Mind-Body-Spirit Expo, I was having a private healing session with a crystal skull.

I felt a strong vibration. I opened my eyes to make sure we weren’t having an earthquake. My quick glance assured me that everything in the room looked completely normal. But when I closed my eyes again the sensation I felt was similar to driving 80 miles an hour in a small compact car on the highway.

A warm rush of healing energy flowed up and down my spine. I felt energized, as if I just drank a venti café latte.

“Ready for level two?” Steven asked with grin.

“Yes,” why stop now I thought to myself.

“Place your forehead against the skull’s third eye, and wrap your arms around it, as if you were giving it a hug.”

The instant my head touched the skull, the vibrating feeling returned. It reminded me of sitting in a train in an amusement park, jerking over each rung of a roller coaster track. In the next moment, I was enveloped in a white light. I felt I was in the presence of a Master Teacher. Although no words or thoughts were exchanged, I felt awestruck. It was rapturous, so that I cried. I felt privileged to be with a being that exuded so much love and light.

And a few moments later, the connection to this force of energy faded away. I was left drying my eyes and blowing my nose. Physically, I felt the benefits of having a massage, or an acupuncture treatment, but I had merely sat with the skull for a few minutes. I felt a deep-sense of well-being.

Many theories about the origins of crystal skulls abound. Some believe these skulls were carved thousands of years ago by Mayans or Aztecs, while others insist that they originated in Atlantis. Some skulls are human size and of very fine detail, while others are smaller and less refined.

Claims of the healing powers of crystal skulls have no support in the scientific community, but I was very happy to be part of Steven Rosley’s research. It was a profound experience   http://www.crystalmaster.com/

The Intenders of the Highest Good is a worldwide grassroots phenomenon that was founded fifteen years ago by four friends in Hawaii, and is dedicated to achieving the highest potential of the individual and of the community.

The Intenders have helped thousands of people from Seattle to South Africa by combining the Laws of Attraction with a support group format called an Intenders Circle - to empower themselves and make their dreams a reality. Free online tools, as well as books and videos for purchase, are available to guide people through the process and start their own Intenders Circles.

Intenders author and co-founder Tony Burroughs says, “If we are going to survive and thrive in today’s ever changing world, we need to do two things: first, come together in community to create a better and more comfortable world for everyone to live in and, second, become proficient at getting the things we want to come to us easily and effortlessly by learning how to manifest our intentions.”

for more info, visit www.intenders.com or www.intenders.org

Deb Chamberlain signed up on the Intenders website to receive their free daily emails over 2 years ago, and enjoyed the year or so of inspiration that arrived in her inbox each morning.

 Deb Chamberlain

After the 3rd time a good friend asked her to start a circle, Deb set a date for a December afternoon in 2007, in which five friends met together for their first Intenders Circle.

Their Circle continues to meet one Sunday a month, from 2-5pm.  During that time they share what they are grateful for, and what they are intending. They provide incredible support and alignment for each other’s intentions.

Deb’s circle welcomes anyone whose intention is, “For the Highest Good of ourselves, everyone everywhere, and the universe.”

In their 2 years of meeting as an intentional community, they have forged a strong and loving network of support and are becoming masters of manifesting their intentions.

Please go to the website to sign up for the free daily emails, and invite your friends to start your own Intenders Circles.

Miracles can happen.

Next Intenders Circle is Sunday, Nov. 15th - 2 to 5pm

Celebrity Sighting in LA

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

In September I went to the opening of  Circling West at the Santa Monica Museum of Art. My husband, Bruce Pollock, is exhibiting his paintings and a wall drawing there through December 13, 2008.

The opening was a huge success. I was very happy to meet the producer of my favorite TV show, “Bridging Heaven and Earth.” http://www.heaventoearth.com/home.html  The show features interviews with healers and psychics.
Here’s a photo of Allan Silberhartz and me at the opening.

And while I was in LA we had another celebrity sighting. Paris Hilton got out of her powder Blue Bentley as we were walking  down the street. But by the time I got out my camera, she was standing inside the doorway. That’s her in the blue dress.
